Dr. Steven Gold Ph.D. is a professor of economics in the College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and former Chair of Finance & Accounting. He has been active in the development of economic and business simulations for 24 years. He is professionally active in the field of simulation and gaming and is a Fellow, and past president of the National Association of Business Simulations and Experiential Learning (ABSEL). In 1989 he organized and chaired the organizations first national business simulation contest. In 1994, a bibliometric co-citation study cited Steven Gold as one of the most "influential" authors in simulation research with ABSEL. In 1998, he won his third award for the best research paper at the national ABSEL Conference. He has presented his research abroad at the International Simulation and Gaming Association in Weimar, Germany, and as a lecturer at Scheffield Polytechnic Institute in England; and the Czech Republic. For many years he was an associate editor of Simulation & Gaming: An International Journal of Theory, Design, and Research. His primary consulting work has been in the application of computerized simulations and management development. He received his B.A. in economics and B.S. in industrial engineering at Rutgers University in New Brunswick; and his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the State University of New York in Binghamton. |
